Dermaplaning with and without LED Light
Dermaplaning is an exfoliation skin treatment using a medical-grade surgical scalpel to remove peach fuzz and dead skin cells. This resurfacing treatment makes your skin look brighter, smoother, even, and serums and creams enter the skin more effectively.
Dermaplaning removes the upper layer of your skin and leaves you with softer and smoother skin. In addition, the treatment removes fine wrinkles, hair, and acne scarring. The therapy is safe and can be used on any skin type or color.
Treatment takes 40-60 minutes, and the length of time depends on if light therapy is added to the treatment. It is not painful and has no downtime. You may experience redness or some tingling or burning sensations. As new skin starts to grow, the skin may appear red and feel swollen. These side effects do go away as skin heals.
Your provider can also add LED light therapy to dermaplaning. It is an efficient way to penetrate the product deeper into the skin for greater results.
Light therapy options may be:
- Redlight to stimulate cellular activity
- Blue light kills bacteria on the surface of your skin
- Green light to help with pigmentation issues
- Amber light stimulates elastin and gives you a special glow
